Announcements & Upcoming Events, March 2, 2014

Important School Rules Reminder from Mr. Stonebarger:

All adults entering the Valencia campus MUST sign-in to the Valencia office and wear either a Visitor or Volunteer sticker or badge. This is required anytime you walk on our campus during school hours. If you walk your student to class at morning drop-off and plan to remain on campus after the 8:30am bell rings, you must sign-in to the Valencia office. This rule is not in place to inconvenience anyone but rather for the safety of our students, staff and volunteers.

In addition, please keep your pets, particularly dogs, off of the Valencia campus and away from students. Even though a dog may be wonderful, some children are scared of dogs, some people are allergic to dogs, and a dog's safety may be in jeopardy on campus, as well. Pets are not allowed on campus at any time during the school day.

Cantrell Spring Photos:

Cantrell Photography will be on campus Tuesday, March 4th so put on your fancy spring wear and a big smile for Spring photos! This is a fundraiser for Valencia ASB.

Valencia's Annual Jog-a-thon!!!

Friday, March 28th, 8:30am-2:30pm

25661 Paseo De Valencia

Laguna Hills, CA

The annual Valencia Jog-A-Thon is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 28th! The theme this year is "Keep Calm And Jog On". This is one of our three major fundraisers for the school year and we need your help in order to continue to make technology improvements for our students and also to maintain PTA sponsored programs and staffing such as our Library Clerks, Health Aide and Computer Lab IT.

The Jog-a-Thon committee is still seeking donations for the various prize and raffle levels offered to students. Monetary donations, gift cards, gift certificates and prizes (Legos, Nerf products, Rainbow Loom products, sporting goods, etc) are all welcome! If you are able to donate, please contact our Jog-A-Thon Chairs, Shelly Lytle~Knapper (slytle@cox.net) or Sherry Higgins (pataandbear@cox.net).

Keep Calm And Jog On Pledge Packets will be sent home with students early March so keep an eye out for more information regarding the Jog-a-Thon and your child’s opportunity to earn raffle tickets and qualify for different prize levels. Thank you for your continued support of our great school!

Your Jog-a-thon Co-Chairs,

Donate Your Old Technology

Attention Valencia families…. your technology team wants your old tech. tools! In just two years, Valencia Elementary has grown its technology program and widespread use of iPads, iPhones, smart phones and tablets throughout most of its classrooms. Teachers and students alike are using these devices daily as another resource and learning tool. To continue to grow this program and to provide devices for as many students as possible, we are organizing a tech. drive. We are looking to collect old tech tools that are in good working condition, but that you might no longer be using. We are collecting old iPhones, iPad 2's, smart phones, tablets, etc… We will also be collecting charging cords and cases as part of the drive. Please look for more information in the following weeks. We will be collecting items before and after school the last week of March!

Thanks,

Your Technology Chairs

Lillie Eiserman & Kim Heinecke
