America becomes an empire by taking over other countries and becoming more dominant

Yankee imperialism was America taking over other less advanced countries such as cuba and the Philippines. American imperialism is the economic, military, and cultural influence of the Unites States on other countries. By taking over other countries this helped expand our countries power and recourses. The Unites States wanted to become an empire so they began too expand into the Philippines and Cuba.
