Nominate Someone for the Kindness Matters Award
Walled Lake Schools is seeking nominations for the “Kindness Matters Award”. We are celebrating the “Season for Nonviolence” in the Walled Lake Schools. The “Season for Nonviolence” is observed from January 30th when Gandhi was assassinated until April 4th when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. The “Kindness Matters Award” is another aspect of our school district’s celebration of the “Season for Nonviolence.”
The “Kindness Matters Award” is intended to honor and recognize those individuals and organizations who promote peaceful and nonviolent ways to solve problems. Nominations can be made for students, staff members, parents, community members, or organizations who:
work toward the peaceful resolution of problems
teach about peace and harmony to others
serve members of the community in times of crisis
Individuals or organizations receiving this award will be honored at the Walled Lake Schools Board of Education meeting in May.
Nomination forms for the “Kindness Matters Award” are available in your school office. Please submit your nominations to your school office or to Nayal Maktari, Principal of Pleasant Lake Elementary, at NayalMaktari@wlcsd.org.
Nominations are due by Monday, April 25th.
WLCSD Financial and Budget Update - April 2022
Optional COVID testing now available at the ESC
Optional COVID testing is accessible to our staff, students, and parents. Both Rapid and PCR tests are available. The testing takes place at the ESC in room 831 on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 - 7 p.m.
The COVID testing staff, provided by a third party, is responsible for letting people in the side door on the south side of the building.
- If you have insurance, your insurance provider will be billed.
- If you do not have insurance, there is a cost of $110.00 for a PCR test and $50.00 for a rapid test. This comes as a result of the Federal Government no longer providing funding for testing
There will be signage placed both inside and outside of the building. To set up an appointment for testing, please complete this requisition form.
