Free and Reduced-Price Meal News
As a reminder, LVISD transitioned back to Free and Reduced-Price Meals for the 22-23 school year. The federal government is no longer funding the free lunch program, which was part of the COVID-19 pandemic aid package. All families are encouraged to fill out the Free and Reduced-Price Meals applications. If your child previously received free or reduced-priced meals, a new application must be received to determine if your child still qualifies. Previous free and reduced-meal eligibility has now expired. You can fill out the Free & Reduced Meal application online at MySchoolApps by clicking on the following link (available in multiple languages in top right corner):
For questions regarding applications, please contact Michelle Jackson, and for questions regarding student purchases, please contact Jennifer Porter.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
The Booster Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lowe’s Market, Brookshire Brothers, and Bush’s Chicken for their donations of gift cards and food items that helped make our Varsity Fall Sports Banquet a huge success this week. Student-athletes from varsity volleyball, team tennis, cross country, and football, as well as athletic trainers were honored at the banquet on January 10th. The event would not have been possible without community donations and wonderful volunteers. Thank you to Kim Christopher and Heather Burke for creating beautiful balloon décor, to Vistago for the signage, and to Cedric Griffin for cooking amazing brisket! Special thanks as well to Mickie Smith, Madeline McFarlin, Marilee Gordinier, and Nash and Crystal Wisdom for their help in food prep and assistance on the day of the banquet. Thank you to all the parents who brought food and drink items as well. We All Row!

Thank you for your continued support of VIKING NATION! We-All-Row!!
Viking Futures Fund
We have exciting news to share!
The LV Viking Booster Club has established the Viking Futures Fund. Each year we will set a Viking-Sized Goal to fundraise for a large scale project or item that will benefit Lago Vista Athletics!
For 2023-2024, our goal is to raise $65,000 for a wrapped 14-15 passenger sprinter van, which will be a tremendous addition to the Athletics Program. In memory of and to honor Whitney Vaughan-Christopher, it will be called the #RowLikeWhit van and have the graphic on the back.
LV Athletic Director/Head Football Coach, Craten Phillips said, "A passenger van would be a game-changer for the Lago Vista athletic department. So many teams would make use during tournament season when parking is tight and travel between games is necessary. Tennis, Golf, and Cross Country could take the entire team without having to order a whole bus for just 6-12 kids. Being able to transport a team without a bus or the CDL requirement would be a huge benefit for the district as less subs would be needed for coaches missing class to drive other teams."
We want to include our community and all of Viking Nation, so personal, business and/or organization sponsorships are available to help fund the #RowLikeWhit van. For anyone donating $1,000 or more, a sponsorship decal will be added to the back of the van for a 3-year period.
Click on the link below or use the QR code to make a donation to the #RowLikeWhit van.
Every Wednesday in LVISD is college day! Students should wear their favorite college t-shirt!
