Biography by: Michelle

Early Childhood

Selena began as the lead singer in the band - Selena y los Dinos when she was 10 . She did not get fame from the name nor family. Her father recognized the talent of Selena, so he made a band with his son Abraham on bass guitar and his daughter Suzett on the drums. They played in weddings and clubs in their native Texas.

Selena grew up speaking English, but her father taught her to sing in Spanish so she could resonate with the Latino community. She learned to only sing Spanish, but later on her life she learned to speak Spanish normally.

In 1992 Selena married her lead guitarist Chris Perez.
