Hello Fronteras Families!
It’s great to be celebrating another fantastic week at Fronteras! Thank you to our morning drivers for pulling all the way forward when dropping off their precious cargo! This prevents a back-up of traffic entering our parking lot. Thank you to everyone for logging volunteer hours! The book is filling quickly! Your time is a treasure to us!
A BIG THANK YOU to all the folks helping prepare our library and school store! The students are so excited to start checking out books. Thank you for the time you’ve dedicated to Fronteras!
Another BIG THANK YOU to the Sliwinski and Beatriz families for taking such great care of our new grass! Our campus looks beautiful because of the generous amount of time you gave!
Yes, another BIG THANK YOU to ALL of the parents, staff, and friends who helped chaperon the Middle School overnighter! Your support and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated!
We cannot forget to thank the Bode and Fink families for hauling all the moving-in cardboard to recycling! This was a lot of work and is very, very appreciated!
And lastly, I would like to thank parent, Jonathan Page, for spending his Monday mornings helping with morning drop-off! His presence in the parking lot has been a huge help and we are very grateful for his assistance!
School pictures are scheduled for the week of October 3rd. If you did not receive a flyer, please contact the front office.
We feel so fortunate to be in our beautiful new building! Not only is it perfect in every way, but it is extremely secure! We have auto lock front doors, magnetic lock doors on each of the Yellow hallway (4/5 and Art) doors, and at the entrance of both the Orange (6-8 and Music) and Green (K-3 and Special Ed) hallways. We have an abundance of security cameras inside and out of the building, and we have both Lockdown and Duress buttons. The Lockdown button secures our school from anyone entering exterior doors and hallways. Our staff is ALICE trained every year as well. ALICE is the district safety initiative and stands for: Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.
All MSBSD schools must perform several safety drills throughout the school year. These include:
· Monthly fire drills
· Semester earthquake drills
· Semester bomb threat drills
· Semester ALICE (formerly Lockdown) drills
Fronteras’ evacuation site is Career and Tech High School. Fronteras staff, students, and guests would evacuate to Career Tech if our campus were to be deemed unsafe for any reason.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Most Sincerely,
Mrs. Hutchins

Middle School Wilderness Lodge Camping Trip
by the Middle School Newsletter Team
The Fronteras middle school took an amazing camping trip two weeks ago. We went to the Wilderness Lodge on September 7th and stayed for three days. We did many of the activities that the camp offers, such as jumping into the icy waters of Neklason Lake, kayaking, being launched off of the blob (an inflatable water toy that people jump onto and launch off of), playing Gaga ball and other fun games.
This is the 4th year in a row that middle school students have taken a camping trip and it's been amazing every time. We had a fiesta the first night with invited families and friends speaking only Spanish. I'm sure I speak for all of middle school when I say I hope there will be many more camping trips like this in the future!
