There's only two weeks left for your Davis Hill student to earn a FREE ticket to Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA!!!
All they have to do is read for fun for at least six hours, complete the Six Flags Read to Succeed reading log & turn it in by February 26th. The reading logs were sent home with students in early November & is included here just in case it has been misplaced. Please make sure your child's name, grade and teacher is filled out at the top of the form, as well as, initial their log and total up the time read at the bottom.
If you have any questions, please contact Candice Prevosk at jaycan@charter.net.

Please see the link below for information on our initial meeting for 4th Grade parents/ guardians regarding our 5th Grade trip to the Ecology School in Saco, Maine next fall.
IMPORTANT BOXTOPS UPDATE!!
We have recently received word that the next BoxTops submission is due on MARCH 1st... We need your help in order to reach our goal of earning $2000 for the year. Our first submission was a great success ($900)... but this is our last opportunity to submit for this school year. Please consider taking that extra moment to collect and submit BoxTops to Davis Hill over the next few weeks. The sooner the BoxTops come in.. the easier it will be for our volunteers to get the submission ready to go. WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!
Don't forget... Once a month the PTA has a raffle for students whose families submit BoxTops where the top three winners earn "Dragon Bucks" for the School Store.
Note: We will continue to collect after March 1st.. but those submissions will not be able to be turned in until the next submission date.
Thank you!
VALENTINE’S DAY NOTE/ REMINDER FOOD POLICY
With Valentine’s Day approaching, I want to remind everyone about School Committee Policy 6619 Life Threatening Allergies, which was approved by the School Committee in August of 2015. This policy states that, “In response to the presence of food-based allergies, parents/guardians may not send outside food/candy/drink to share in the classroom. As part of a District-wide initiative to discourage the use of food as a reward, both teachers and parents/guardians are encouraged to recognize and celebrate students by methods that do not involve food. For this same reason, any projects or classroom activities should also avoid the use of food items”.
If your child’s class is exchanging Valentines, we ask that you strictly adhere to this policy. This is a school-wide rule and no Valentines that have a food ‘treat’ will be exchanged in the classroom. Your child’s teacher may have additional requests/ instructions if their classroom is exchanging this year (Please contact your child's teacher regarding their specific plans for the occasion).
I appreciate your understanding in regard to this matter.
