LEADERSHIP SERIES

INTRODUCING THE NEXT 15 MEMBERS OF THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

SECOND INDUCTION

Eric Thomas's Top 10 Rules For Success

What is the Leadership Series?

Leadership comes in many different forms. Some people don't even realize that they are leaders. What kind of leaders are there?

1. Vocal Leaders

2. Quiet Leaders

3. Academic Leaders

4. Performance Leaders and more

As we grow up into young men and woman, we have seen how others have led. Our beliefs have been developed by watching others lead.

Our Moral and Ethical compasses have been developed by what we have been surrounded with. Influences such as our Parents, Siblings, Uncles, Aunts, Coaches, Teachers, College Athletes, Professional Athletes, Presidents and so on.

We have people looking to us on how to do things the right way. This series is to show that not only are these students leaders, but to what degree their decisions on and off the playing fields have in others lives.

Whatever type of leader you are, I ask you this: What type of impression are you going to leave on someone? More importantly, what type of person are you going to become as you grow into a leader.

What steps are these young leaders taking?

In March these students found out that they have been selected to represent the first ever Leadership Series here in Merrill. Are these the first ever leaders here in Merrill? Of course not! Merrill wouldn't be here unless there had been many leaders in the past to build upon.

The second 15 students selected were only nominated by the students themselves. There were about 30 students nominated and the top 15 were selected at this time by their peers.

What an exciting process that our students have taken on. To recognize each other as leaders and ask them to join in reforming the culture here in Merrill.

These young leaders had no idea what was ahead of them before March. All of these young leaders were introduced to this series and were told about the expectations of them. They also where given an assignment. Their assignment was to answer the following questions and then asked to live by them.

1. What does it mean to be a leader to them?

2. What does the Merrill Community want out of them as Leaders?

3. What is their main goal in this position?

4. In 5 years from today, what type of person do you see?

Leaders

Leaders in a competitive arena need the unique combination of emotional energy and calm poise. Their attitude will infuse your entire team. Discipline yourself first.

Oath of a Merrill Leader
