High School Updates
Chromebook Returns - For those of you who borrowed a Chromebook to assist in distance learning, we will be collecting them on June 9, 10 and 11, between 8am-2pm. There will be a cart in the entryway of the high school where the devices can be placed.
WHS will hold an outdoor graduation ceremony on June 26 at 7pm at the Westwood High School football complex. The event will be limited to graduating seniors and four guests in order to stay within the guidelines for outdoor gatherings, which is 500 people. Guests should bring their own seating and practice appropriate social distancing.
End of the year report cards will be sent this week. Students will not receive a letter grade in marking period 4 nor will they be assigned a grade for semester 2. Instead, students will receive credit or no credit.
News from Mrs. Halamka
9th-11th Grade: Report cards will be mailed out next week. I have included a letter with your report card if summer school is recommended. Please note that the deadline to sign up for summer school classes is Friday, June 19th.
12th Grade: Your final transcripts will be ready to send to colleges next week. Please log in to your SCOIR account to request the sending of your transcripts. If you have any questions about how to do this, please let me know. Please note that the front office will no longer be sending transcripts to colleges; your SCOIR account is the only method to do this.
Summer Counseling Services
The NICE Child & Adolescent Health Center will continue to offer counseling services throughout the summer. Services are currently being offered through telehealth, but face to face sessions may resume, as we receive additional guidance from state and local officials throughout the summer months. If your student has closed out services for the summer, but intends to resume in the fall, it will be up to parents/students to initiate services by contacting the center (485-1023 ext 3). Consent forms remain valid for the duration of your child’s time in district, however, a telehealth consent form may be required. All forms can be found on the district website under the Health Resources tab. Have a safe and happy summer break!
