8:20 Gates Open - Students enter and proceed immediately to the classroom
8:30 Instruction begins
11:00 Instruction Ends - Teachers will inform parents where/how to pick up children (which gate)
11:00 - 12:30 Cleaning Time

12:30 PM Gates Open
12:40 Instruction Begins
3:10 Instruction Ends - Teachers will inform parents where/how to pick up children (which gate)
Virtual Students
This time is by teacher. Your child's teacher will let you know about start and end times as well as material pickups.
School Arrival
Gates will be open for the following arrival times (8:20-8:30 and 12:30-12:40).
Please remember these details:
- Parents/visitors/volunteers will not be allowed on campus during the school day per Health Plan Guidelines.
- Masks must be worn at gate and by students as they enter the campus.
- Student Monitors will be at these open gates to assist students.
- Support staff (principal, office staff, custodian, etc) will be stationed at each hallway to assist students as needed.
- The office will not be open during drop-off periods, but phones will be answered. If you need to stop in the office, please arrange to do so after arrival times.
- If your student's teacher is Mrs. Kwit, Mrs Harris/Mrs. Verutti, Mrs. Stratton, Mrs. Santos, Ms. Lloyd, Mrs. Fair, or Ms. Howard you will enter campus at the Stoneybrook Park Entrance.
- If your student's teacher is Mrs. McGee, Mrs. Atherton, Mrs. Ariola, Ms. Curtis, Mrs. Scheper/MacKenzie, Mr. Thomas you will enter from the front of the school through the double doors by the MP Room.
- All other students will enter through the double gates on Christine Drive.
- PLEASE DO NOT BRING DOGS ON CAMPUS
Lunch
AM In-Person: All students will receive a lunch and a breakfast for the following day when they leave class at 11 AM.
PM In-Person: All students will receive a breakfast and lunch for the following day when they leave at 3:10 PM.
Wednesdays: No lunches will be served on Wednesday
Please note: As reopening progresses, adjustments may be made as necessary.
Virtual Students
The MP Room will continue to be available for materials pick up and drop off. The MP Room will continue to be open 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
Temperature and Wellness Checks
Please do not send your child to school if they have the following symptoms: Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
If your child complains of one of these symptoms, we will begin our Covid screening procedures and your child may be sent home for 10 days or longer from the onset of symptoms.
We will also have protocols in place to notify families if a student or staff member does test positive. These protocols will be further detailed in the safety plan linked below.
Mental Health
Transitions are tough...coming back to school more than a year since the last time they sat in a classroom at Cooper could be tough...dealing with this pandemic isolation has been tough. From the safety plan:
VUSD Mental Health Clinicians will work in conjunction with teachers, staff, and site administrators to ensure students' social-emotional needs are addressed. For more information review resources that are available.
Mental Health Services are available for those in need.
Individual therapy services are provided to Special Education students who receive Mental Health Services through their Individualized Education Program.
Individual therapy services may be offered to qualifying General Education students.
Group therapy services may be offered at specific sites depending on student need and availability.
Kindergarten & New Student Registration Begins March 1st
Do you have students entering Kindergarten or a new student coming to Cooper in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year? If so, please complete the Kindergarten or new student registration packet by clicking on the ling below or pick up a physical packet from the Cooper School Office between 8-4pm. Please return a completed packet with the the below additional required items:
Copy of birth certificate
Proof of residency
Copy of immunization records
