Language Arts

Our class has recently finished a unit on reading non-fiction text. We are now applying what we have learned into researching the various people and events that prompted the Revolutionary War. The students are working in groups to "read like researchers' in order to take notes on their group's event or historical figure.

Regional Science Fair!

Congratulations to Abigail and Lily C. for participating in the Regional Science Fair at Marion University. These two scientists presented an experiment on Handwashing. We are proud of them for winning the award for most outstanding Team Work! Way to go girls!

Math

The 4th grade classes are now working with reflections and symmetry. This is an enjoyable unit in which we use transparent mirrors to create a line of reflection as we view a preimage and image through the mirror. At this unit continues we will be taking a look a various frieze patterns including: rotations, reflections, and translations. The end of this unit will include work with adding positive and negative integers, a totally new concept for our mathematicians.

Don't forget to have your students continue to practice his or her multiplication facts. Students should know these automatically and should have quick recall of all of their facts!

Way to Go Mallory!

We are so proud of our classmate, Mallory, who's essay on commitment was chosen to appear in the Noblesville Current Magazine. She is an outstanding writer and her article taught us all a good lesson on what it means to make a commitment to something.
