Middle School years 1992-1993
What kinds of music, movies, and fashions were popular at the time?
Hip hop was popular, as well as boy bands and pop. Popular movies were Jurassic Park, Mrs. Doubtfire, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Many people wore Cavaricci Pants and farmer jeans.
What were your favorite activities in middle school? What were your hobbies or interests?
Ed enjoyed street hockey, baseball, video games and fishing in middle school.
What job/interests/activities do you have now? Is there any connection between what you like back then and what you enjoy today?
Today, Ed is an accountant. This job is connected to his childhood, seeing as how his babysitter was in school for accounting. Ed also enjoys lots of outdoor activities, like hiking and still fishing.
What was the best part of being in middle school?
Ed explained that the best part of middle school was that he had "More freedom, but at the same time it was still structured."
What was the worst part of middle school?
Ed said that the bullies were definitely the worst part of middle school.
How would you describe your middle school self?
Ed described himself as funny, witty, outgoing smart.
What advice about middle school would you give to kids my age?
Don't be afraid to try new things and figure yourself out, even if others don't like it.
How many friends did you have?
"I had 4-5 close friends and a lot of acquaintances."
On difficult days, what helped you?
One word: FRIENDS.
