PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent/teacher conferences are October 8th and 9th. All conferences will be virtual. Classroom teachers will send a link to a Zoom conference. Click here for instructions on how to register online through Pick-a-Time if you still need to sign-up.

This year, D303 elementary schools are shifting from conferences focused on progress review to a focus on setting meaningful goals. Teachers will be reviewing student work and student assessment data with your child to determine areas of strengths and areas of improvement. Goals will then be set and ideas to reach those goals will be shared with you at your child’s conferences. The role of the teacher, the student and the guardian in reaching those goals will be discussed.

In order for you to prepare for these conferences, please reflect on this school year so far. What has been a success for your child? What has been a challenge? How can you support your child with reaching his or her goals? The conferences will conclude with time for questions that you may have for your child or the teacher.

HEALTH OFFICE CONNECTION

We have received information that COVID testing at the Aurora outlet mall will end on 9/30. If we get word that there is a replacement site for that area, we will let you know. COVID testing can still be pursued through doctor’s offices and pharmacies or other state testing locations.

There are still some children who are not being certified prior to school. Please keep in mind, children are not supposed to enter the building for health and safety reasons until they are certified, and the weather is turning colder. Please certify your child every morning. As a reminder, there are 2 steps to certification. First, completing the online certification form, then signing the backpack tag. Both must be completed each time you certify.

We are doing all we can to keep your child safe at school with students and staff wearing masks, social distancing, handwashing/sanitizing, and cleaning. Following these preventive guidelines outside of school is important too to keep everyone safe. If children are walking to school together, social distancing is still important. Mask wearing when walking to and from school or can help if children forget social distancing guidelines. Be a good example if you are on school grounds by social distancing and wearing a mask. Remind your child to wear their mask also. Keep these preventive guidelines in mind if you or your child is interacting with others outside of school.

At Home Learning Website for In Person Learners

We understand that students may miss school more than usual due to the circumstances and want to ensure a strong continuation of learning at home. Our teachers have developed a website that has the daily lesson plans for the day.

In the event that your child is home from school for one day or an extended period of time, you can view this website to get the daily plans for the day. This website can also be found in your child's google classroom, but we wanted our parents to have the direct link as well. Click HERE for direct access.
