Important Technology Info
- From the District: If a teacher plans to move to another school within the district, they will take their district-issued laptop with them, and they’ll need to let the TSS and inventory contact at their new location know what they have. If they have school-funded equipment, e.g. Title I, school-based grants, etc. or if they are leaving the district, that equipment will need to be turned-in before they leave.
- As long as you are not leaving the district I will go in and renew your annual check out.
- If you want to keep your laptop or iPad cart in your room over the summer, make sure you are able to secure it to something that can't be moved such as a pipe. (think bicycle locks) If you are using a padlock with a personal code or key to lock the cart, make sure to leave the code or key with Ms Dixon.
- Regardless of whether you return or keep your cart, if you want it again next year be sure to label it with your name and room number.
- If you want to return your cart, please do so by the end of the day on the 24th.
- If you are changing rooms please don't take items from your original room. This includes desktops, printers, phones, projectors, remote controls, and yes, even Ladybugs, which should either be returned or secured in a closet or cabinet.
- Questions? Email me or stop by.
Battle of the Books
Our team is going to battle it out with the rest of the district this Thursday at the downtown main library. Our team has put lots of hours in preparing for this. I'm proud of the five team members and the other dozen kids who worked hard to make the team and who are supporting their team. This is a special combination of kids who love books. They become a family over the months. I am in awe of their knowledge, dedication, and competitive edge.
Winners!
So pleased for Najah Carlisle for winning the NPL school library month competition iPad Mini. NPL is a wonderful supporter of the Metro schools. I've never seen such giving and collaboration between a school district and the adjoining public library system as I've seen in Nashville.
The homeroom winner for March for Hour of Tech fun is Cecil.
The homeroom winner for April for Hour of Tech fun is Deguira.

Notes for Next Year
- We had a bunch of boxes of new books, DVDs, and Playaways arrive within the last couple of weeks thanks to Limitless Libraries. You know what that means? Fresh, new materials for the first of the 2018-2019 school year!
- The collaboration between the library and classrooms was busier this year than ever before. The library has a ton of resources, which include lessons on library resources, searching appropriate sites and databases, citations, copyright & plagiarism, tech use and resources in general.
- There is a plan for more classroom pop-ins for quick book talks. These will occur during first period right after announcements. They will be 1 - 2 minutes long.
- The entire year for the Book Club 2018-2019 has been scheduled and books have been purchased, thanks to the Scholastic Book Fair.
- Speaking of which, the Book Fair is already scheduled for Oct. 29th - November 2nd.
