COMMUNITY FEEDBACK
We Want Your Feedback!
Do you have suggestions, questions or concerns that you’d like to share with Boone administration? Do you have shout-outs or positive feedback about our school or staff that you’d like to share? Please take a moment to click on this Community Feedback link and tell us how we’re doing. This form is anonymous, although there is a place to provide your contact info if you’d like us to follow up with you. Thank you!Boone School to Receive the Space to Grow Playground Renovation Grant!
Space to Grow transforms Chicago schoolyards into vibrant spaces to play, learn and be outside. Schoolyard transformations prioritize physical activity, outdoor learning and community engagement. The green schoolyards incorporate landscape features that capture a significant amount of rainfall, helping keep the city’s water resources clean and resulting in less neighborhood flooding. It’s a win for students, neighborhoods and our city’s environment.
Space to Grow is managed by Healthy Schools Campaign and Openlands and is made possible through the financial support and partnership of Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Department of Water Management, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
Boone is one of five schools selected in this this round of applications. The community design process will kick off in November and the new schoolyard should be completed by next fall!
Building Boone Committee News:
Sharing your email address is the most important way to stay in touch with what is happening at Boone. In an effort to collect email addresses, the Building Boone Committee has created a Google Form document which will help all parents stay informed. Filling out the form should only take a minute. Click on this link: https://forms.gle/Krq1D4k8voRx7Er28 to submit your information to know what's happening with Boone events, fundraising, classroom activities, and much more.
Boone is starting its Room Rep program after winter break. We are still in need of Room Rep volunteers. One parent per class is all that is needed. A simple weekly "check in" with the teacher to see if they need any supplies, or have any class information to share with parents is the primary responsiblity of a Room Rep. You can submit to be a Room Rep by filling out https://forms.gle/Krq1D4k8voRx7Er28
Remember, you can support Boone by shopping at Amazon Smile at https://smile.amazon.com/ch/83-2894685. Put the Building Boone Committee as your primary charity and everytime you shop through Amazon Smile, Boone will receive a portion of your purchase. Android users can go into settings on the Amazon app to set up Building Boone Committee as the primary charity. IPhone users will need to do the following:
1) Delete current Amazon app
2) Open Safari (IPhone internet browser); go to www.smile.amazon.com

Kosher & Halal-Friendly Meals
We are excited to announce that Boone is now offering Kosher and Halal-Friendly lunch meals to our students! Our goal is to offer more dining options and to make sure we remove all restrictions for our students to be able to participate in the school lunch program.
All lunch will be free and there is no pre-ordering required. All meals will be coming from MilMar Food Group, a Kosher certified facility. The meals will be pre-packaged to meet the Kosher requirements and will have Kosher certification on the package.
