We are looking forward to seeing you next week!
Chemistry Expedition!
We've launched our chemistry expedition! Students will spend the next few weeks working to solve our problem:
Chemistry plays an important role in just about everything, from cooking food to fighting diseases and many people use it in their everyday lives. Yet, many students don’t experience enough chemistry early in school to prepare them for the advanced thinking required of students in the 21st century, and many teachers are not challenging their students to become advanced scientific thinkers.
How can we use our understanding of chemistry to expand access to this branch of science and prepare kids as scientific thinkers?
We look forward to sharing our learning with you at Showcase!
Earbuds Wanted!
Do you have old earbuds laying around your house? Leftover headphones from when your old iPhone (or iPod!) still required you to plug headphones into the device? If so, we would LOVE to take them off of your hands. We are looking for the older kind with the round plug (as pictured here), NOT the flat iphone plug, to use with our google Chromebooks. We are trying to accumulate a set of 25 so if you happen to have many old headphones hanging around please send them in, we'd really appreciate it!
School Arrival
We've been noticing an uptick in the number of students who are arriving to school late. We try to accomplish a lot before our morning meeting including checking homework, morning work, and breakfast! It makes a huge difference if students are arriving at 8:15! We want to get our day started on time. If you're having trouble getting your student to school on time, these checklists can help!
