Important Information
PLC Unit Plans:
Thank you to all of our PLCs for the work products you've shared with Paul and I. Please take some time prior to our late arrival this week to view this UNIT PLAN, and discuss with your PLC where your unit plans and work products are currently at, and plan out your next steps toward meeting this level of PLC unit planning. Also, please remember to share your data analysis work products for any CFAs/IABs/etc. We are excited to see our PLCs grow throughout this year in order to impact the growth of ALL STUDENTS at CMMS!
Late Arrival 2/26:
We will start in the library briefly on Wednesday at 6:45 to go over SLCs, remember our spring conferences are in March now, and SLC prep begins on Friday. PLCs will then meet, and classified staff will meet in room 907 to engage with the SIP (School Improvement Plan) activity that certificated staff did on waiver day.
March 20th Family Plarn, Mat Making and Food Truck Night:
CMMS Leadership invites you to a Community Mat Making Night! On Friday March 20th from 6 - 9pm, join us to help create plastic yarn mats to donate to people in our area experiencing homelessness. We will have stations set up for crocheting, weaving and making the plastic yarn. Dinner, snacks and soda will be available for purchase. Mr. Meeks' food truck P and J Waffle Delight will be serving up their amazing chicken and waffles as well, super excited about this community engagment night!
Heritage Night:
Our annual Heritage Night will be held on Thursday, May 28th from 6-8 pm. This event is always a fun and engaging night for our community! At Heritage Night we will have the 8th graders heritage projects displayed, the art classes are creating cultural art to display, we will have cultural performances and food trucks. We are looking for more student performers, if you know any students that would like to perform please let me (Brit) know so we can get them on the lineup, or if you have any other ideas to add to Heritage Night let me know those as well.
Lifetouch - Our New Photographer:
We have officially moved to Lifetouch as our school photographer. We are excited about all the options, especially the digital options available now because Lifetouch has partnered with Shutterfly. We have a banner on our school website that will serve as a way for families to order their school and/or team picture products, and be a fundraising source for us as well. More info to come, but this is an exciting start! www.bethelsd.org/cmms

Positivity Posters:
The positivity posters will be on the walls in the staff lounge, take some time to read them, and feel free to add to them! We all need to hear the good stuff, it really does recharge the batteries and remind us of why we do the hard work of education!!!

Wednesday: Late Start--No Advisory
Thursday: Pride Time
Friday: SLC Prep
6th Grade: Values and Emotions
Research shows that attempting to “control” emotions or make them go away often backfires. In this lesson, students learn ways to be more aware of emotions without reacting to or following them. Values can help students judge whether emotionally driven actions really represent what they care about and help students make sound decisions even when they’re upset.
7th Grade: Handling Emotions
8th Grade: Responding to Anger
News Around Bethel School District
Annual Art and Tech Fair:
Join us for our annual BSD Art and Tech Fair at Spanaway Lake High School on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 10-3. This is always an impressive and innovative experience for staff, students and our community!
Drive Safely! Letter Image Below:
This is a dark and dangerous time of year for driving, with increased risks for our students as they travel to and from school. Our 21,000 students going to school each day, often in areas without sidewalks and street lights, deserve everyone's full attention to safety.
