HNI Newsletter

A bi-weekly update for the HNI General Body

Welcome to the first HNI newsletter of Spring 2016

Who are we?

The mission of the Emory Haiti Neurosurgery Initiative (HNI) is to implement a program that will sponsor senior neurosurgical residents to provide medical support in Haiti. We aim to do so by engaging students from both the Undergraduate and Graduate communities towards the goal of providing sufficient neurosurgical care for the Haitian population. We also hope to connect students interested in the field of medicine with the professionals who are working to bring neurosurgical care to Haiti. Finally, we wish to make our organization’s purpose sustainable by providing resources for Haitian neurosurgical residents to receive training for future work in Haiti.

As a part of the general body structure, HNI will be implementing three task committees to accomplish the goals of the organization:

Publicity: Responsible for creating, printing, and distributing fliers on behalf of the HNI UC. They will also manage our social media accounts, such as the website, Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

Fundraising: Responsible for proposing and executing fundraisers. They will work with Publicity to spread the word about fundraisers and Outreach if collaborations with other organizations are necessary.

Outreach: Responsible for connecting HNI to both on and off-campus organizations. They additionally will work to plan extramural events.
