Principal Update
This week we began many of our end of year events. Kindergarten, first, and second grade performed on the blacktop for their families and teachers. There were masks, multi-colored ribbons, and many featured soloists!
Third, fourth, and fifth grade alternated singing with performing on their recorders the next night. They had dances prepared, and even came with a special appearance by two Elvis's who really added to the festivities. The concert ended with streamers shot into the air!
Mrs. Shaw did an incredible job putting on both these concerts!
Our 6th grade band and strings students also performed at Moran this week. They had multiple songs prepared that highlighted different instruments and different conductors. One student even performed their own unique composition!
Our students have been lucky having Mrs. Keegan and Mr. Pintor as their instructors this year!
We capped the week with double performances by the Spokane Ballet Ensemble of Alice in Wonderland. The crew came Thursday night to set up a literal stage for the performance, and young dancers dressed in vibrant costumes for the show. Students sat through nearly 90 minutes of a beautiful ballet performance; during breaks, a lead at the Spokane Dance Center taught them ballet moves! Two of the students performing were Moran Prairie students - including a current student!
Ongoing Reminders
- Register your kindergartner for next year! We are accepting registration and beginning to work on numbers for next year's kindergarten classes. Get your registration in ASAP!
- Please take this survey to provide input on the experience you and your student(s) have had this year. You are encouraged to fill it out for each student you have.
- Volunteers - please remember to sign in and sign out when you arrive! We have to keep track of volunteers for district and state auditing purposes as well as for our PTG.
- Not returning next year? Let the office know ASAP as we work on our numbers and classes for next year.
- Please remember to not block intersections and cross walks during pick-up and drop-off. Also, please follow the directions of crossing guards and supervisors during pick-up/drop-off. When the flag is out, it means to stop as someone is about to cross. Otherwise, supervisors will signal when they need you to keep driving through. We're trying to help with the flow of traffic to prevent too much back-up on 57th.
