School is Painful

DOVES VS VULTURES
By: Royelle Gant
Me on the first day of schools is a lot different then other peoples first day of school. The first day of school is supposed to be like waking up on a bright white cloud with rainbows and Doves, but for me, it's like waking up at six in the morning on a dark gray rainy cloud with lightning, thunder, and vultures. So I got to school and all we did was go over the rules in every class. For the kids who like school and rules they would of thought that part was fun. For me it felt like I was walking in the rain that I would call rules. After about a week or so I had gotten used to. My version of school turned into their version of school. I still don't like school, but it's ok because either.
"The first day of school was cool exploring the school but boring at the same time because we just reviewed rules and expectations" says Katelyn Pierce.

I SURVIVED A WEEK OF TERROR!
By: Alyssa Green
It feels like we just left 6th-grade. Now-you have to get it together because there’s no more little 6th grade you. You’re in the big house. Lakeview Middle School. There’s two kinds of people-in-school. People who-are excited to learn again. And some who would rather jump off a cliff then go back to school. But-neither won’t-have a clue what’s about to happen. You walk in you see some of your friends. Then reality smacks you in the face. Your-friends aren’t even on your team. You-figure you should probably get to-class. Wait but-where’s-your-locker? Hahahaha!!! There goes the hallways of Lakeview again-always playing tricks. Better-watch out! You’re making it through the-day pretty easily, right? What about- lunch? This is where the real terror-lives. You-think this is going to be a long year. But-then-your week suddenly gets much better. You make some new friends, you-memorized your classes, and your thinking positive again.Sometimes schools-can be a scary place. Especially-if you’re a new kid. I’m-here-to tell you that-everything is going to be alright. You’re going to have one of the-best years-of your middle-school life. So there’s really nothing to worry about. And-most importantly-always keep a smile on your face.
HOMEWORK IS TAKING OVER!!!!
By: Lauren Peterson
Homework, the joy of taking a little part of school home with you. And as I recall, most kids in America don’t enjoy school, me included. For one, it weighs down you’re backpack a couple hundred tons. My back get sore just walking to the bus stop because of how many books and papers teachers give us these days. I bet we all wish we could just go back to grade school and have a backpack that had princesses or legos on it. All we had to carry back then was a hello kitty lunch box and a coloring sheet that was our homework that you didn’t have to color inside the lines! Now middle school is a whole different story. We have homework in every night. Of course the teachers say “Oh it only takes 30 minutes to complete.” WRONG! I spend 2 hours a night doing homework. And we all have hobbies like soccer, swim, gymnastics, basketball, etc. after school too. So after soccer you come home and still have homework after practice which will take until 10:00 p.m. Then you’re tired all day. It’s too much, homework is taking over our free time.
Is It time for school again?

Waking up on August 11th 2016, the first day of being a 7th grader at Lakeview middle, I felt like throwing my alarm clock across the room. Sadly that never happened. So I had to get up and before I knew it I was sitting in a classroom full of faces I didn't recognize. We did an activity that helped us get to know each other better. But I was so focused on being nervous and scared if they would like me or not that I didn't really learn much about them. This feeling went away as the day progressed and I realized that I was going to like it here, at lake view middle school. Everyone is at least a little nervous on the first day of school. Just breathe, it’s normal. Every student around you is at least 99.9% of the time feeling the same way you are. At the end of the day you will at least have one new friend, or even more than one. You will realize that the teachers aren't that scary, and they won't bite. You realize you have and are going too a great school. A You realize that you have great friends to help you get through the year in one piece.

Fresh out of summer 16, and ready to learn. Plaza Tigers become Lakeview Lynx. School has started, everyone is adjusting to new sleeping schedules, and morning routines. Seventh grade madness has begun. Welcome back to school everyone, school has begun and mostly everyone is excited. Excited to make new friends and learn new things.
"Out of 20 students 16 of them enjoyed the first day of school and 4 students did not enjoy the first day of school". Lakeview Middle School is where it's happening folks, fresh sixth graders, ready to go back to school and make new friends, a new start.
The first day of school was on August 11th 2016, where the old eighth graders are out, and in high school and new seventh graders are in!

NEW LAPTOPS: EXCELLENT, AWFUL OR BOTH
By Zane Hammett
This year every student got there own laptop that they are responsible for, so far the laptops have not once failed anyone more than 5 times each. While a good portion of the time the laptops are very helpful when it comes making work easy yet still challenging. While others of them are up and running nice and smooth there are some that are constantly having problems each day. some people have problems logging in. For some their account doesn’t work. Some get stuck waiting for it to log them in. or others their laptop just has a black screen (although most of the time this is solved by turning it off and on) but soon most if not all computers will be up and running and there full potential it's just going to take some time for the computers to get used to this like it took us sometime to get used to our new school.
KIDS LOST ON FIRST DAY AT LAKEVIEW
By:Mackenzie Tate
It was the first day of Lakeview Middle School. 7th and 8th graders rushed into the building after being dropped offed by buses and cars. Teachers were shouting down by the classrooms, “Put your stuff in your locker and go to your first class!” There was many students going to teachers to find where their first class was. Hundreds of students flooded the hallways and many just went into a classroom so they wouldn’t be trampled by the others. As the students went to their classes, some of them were about to found out they were wrong. As the teachers call roll some students found out that they were in the wrong class and as the even though the teacher had lead them in the right direction, some that were still lost had heat rise to their face and thought they couldn’t ever make it to their class, but there was people helping even after classes have started. All of the kids made it to their classes eventually after help from the other teachers.
