TAC Students Welcomed the New Year with Seniors
A group of community service leaders from grade 11 invited elderly citizens from Tarsus Alzheimer's Association to our campus for an enjoyable New Year's event.
TAC students saw to every detail of the event which makes up an important part of the school’s community outreach endeavors. In the renovated Sadik Pasha Foyer, they presented about the history of our school and drew a Tree of Hope for 2022 together. Our students learned a lot about Tarsus in their conversations with their guests.
It is our students’ goal to raise awareness in their communities about healthy and active aging through a series of activities during the year with the Tarsus Alzheimer's Association.
We congratulate our TAC students, the leaders of the future, who successfully undertake many diverse community outreach projects.

TAC’s Social Sciences Department organized a Philosophy Symposium which had a guest speaker from Mersin University, Prof. Dr. Taşkıner Ketenci. In the symposium with TAC’s 11th graders, Ketenci started his remarks, titled "Thinking in the Middle Ages", by emphasizing the relationship between philosophical thinking and daily life. He emphasized the similarities between the philosophical thinking in modern day and in Middle Ages, which have been somewhat underrated. The event ended with an interactive session where students shared their views and asked questions.
Golden Ticket Surprise from Willy Wonka at the Library!
The “Golden Tickets” in the "Charlie's Chocolate Factory", by Roald Dahl, which have long attracted both readers and viewers, were waiting for lucky students on the shelves at TAC Korkut Beriker Library. Students who were looking through the library shelves for new books, were excited to find surprise gifts and golden tickets inside the books they wished to borrow, even though they could not make it to Willy Wonka's magnificent chocolate factory.
We congratulate our 10th graders, Cem S. and Elif Öykü S., who found the Golden Ticket during the last week of the year.
By the way, five Golden Tickets are still inside the books so you still have a chance to find them and win surprise gifts.
Last Week’s Winners in the Library’s New Year's Contest
The final winners of the "Guess the Books by Its Cover!" contest, which is a part of the New Year's activities, were announced. The students who were the first to guess all the books correctly received surprise New Year gifts. Congratulations to our 9th grader Beren B. and 11th grader Levent Onur T.
