The PJHS Python Press
March 30, 2020
Dear PJHS Students,
Check out the video of PJHS/KJHS Choir Director, Mrs. Bruton! She is singing a special song just for you! Your first day of remote learning is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31st. This is a time for us to work together to help you continue your education from home. We know that it is a period of uncertainty. If you need assistance or have questions, please email Mr. Henderson at henderde@unit5.org or me at hessers@unit5.org. We are happy to help in any way possible.
Here are some things that you need to know about remote learning:
- Assignments: You can find assignments in your Google Classrooms and on our school webpage.
- Communication: We will send you and your family the same messages in three different ways: Infinite Campus email, PJHS Facebook, and the PJHS school website. We are doing this so that information is clear and readily accessible.
Email: Make sure that you are checking your school email and Google Classrooms regularly for updates.
- Food: We want to make sure you have the food you need. There are free lunches available to all students. You can find information about how to pick up food HERE.
- Parent Resources: The district has a Parent Resources page, too!
- Remote Learning: Our school district has a great website for Remote Learning!
Schedule: There is no set schedule! Your teachers will be available online from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. each school day. Check your email and Google Classroom for assignments and contact them when you need help.
- Survey: Please take the Student Survey that I shared before Spring Break. The information you share will help us to better support you!
- UPDATED 3/31/20---Tech Help: The Unit 5 Technology Department will be housed at Kingsley Junior High School from 9:00-11:00 a.m. each day until April 6th to assist in device issues. This will happen in the bus lane located on the south side of Kingsley. The technology department would appreciate an email to Unit5questions@unit5.org letting them know when you will be coming to ensure they have enough devices on hand to assist everyone. However, they will still do their best to assist you should you not be able to let them know ahead of time. If transportation to Kingsley is a concern, please email Unit5questions@unit5.org and the tech department will work with your principal to get you a device.
I look forward to hearing about your experiences in remote learning!
Mrs. Hesser
