Catholic Corner

Enter the Mystery

Sunday, May 30 is the feast of the Most Holy Trinity. the idea of one God in 3 persons sounds complicated and many saints have tried to explain how this can be! Much of our faith is full of mystery and sometimes seems beyond our understanding, but in 2 Cor. 13 offers us a simple guide and blessing. Live the moments of your life seeking peace with God and one another, and allow the healing grace of Jesus, the love of the Father, and the communion of the Spirit to be poured over you and everything you do. (Leah Perrault, Living with Christ). May we not allow ourselves to get too caught up in the mystery of it all, but believe with simple faith what the Trinity offers to us: LOVE.

Did You Know?

Praying can be made through gestures and through words. The simplest prayer we have as Catholics is the sign of the cross: In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. When these words are combined with the gesture of crossing ourselves we are, in fact, praying twice! So when you don't know what to pray, simply say the sign of the cross. It's Powerful!

Praise the Trinity with this song by St. Francis of Assisi and watch this fun video to learn more about the Holy Trinity.

Mental Health and Wellness

Don't forget to check out our "Mental Health and Wellness" section on our website for wellness ideas, tips, resources and sessions that are being offered.

Counselling at SGEC

Our school counsellor at St. Gabriel Education Center is Mrs. Laurie McCurdy. She is able to provide social and emotional support to students both online or at school. Mrs. McCurdy is available at SGEC on Tuesdays. Counselling referrals can also be made by parents or teachers. Support is provided for individual or family concerns and referrals to outside agencies can be accessed through Mrs. McCurdy. For more information or to book an appointment please contact Mrs. McCurdy at lmccurdy@gsacrd.ab.ca.

Parking

Just a friendly reminder that we have very limited parking at our new site at this moment. We are asking that any student please park either at St Albert Catholic High School (33 Malmo Ave) or on the street.

Safety Protocols

Due to our space, please remember to bring and wear a mask at all times while in our common areas or seminar rooms. Our new site does not accommodate large numbers of students at one time. Due to this we ask that students please attend seminars for their classes and then make room for the next group upon completion. This will help us to reduce the number of people in the building at any given time.
