Tuesday Tech Tips

FHMS, VOLUME 15, 9/23/14

THIS EDITION: EXPERIMENT, USE, MODEL & ASSIGN TECH TOOLS IN YOUR ROOM TODAY

It's easy to say 'we don't have time', but the bottom line is, sometimes teachers may just be intimidated to try something new. Guess what? Our students experience this everyday-the angst of something unfamiliar, uncertainty about what to do or maybe even failing. Yet, we persuade our students that they CAN prevail, and most DO-and while doing so experience the feeling that comes from success that didn't necessarily come 'easy' to them! This edition, I'll be showing that with a little effort, time, and purpose, tech tools don't have to be something that 'you'll learn about later'-do it now-one tool at a time!!!

PowToon-A Powerful 'Hybrid' Tech Tool

If you are familiar with PowerPoint, then this tool isn't a far leap...it can be used to convey information in much the same way, however, it's an 'amped up' version that offers slide or movie mode, many transition options, music/voice overs, and cool graphics and props that add to the overall effect...
