Welcome to Alpha Xi Delta!
October 20, 2015
Welcome Parents!
My name is Megan McCoy and I am the 2015-2016 New Member Orientation Chair for Alpha Xi Delta. I am a Senior in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I am beyond ecstatic to be working with your daughters through their new member period. This newsletter is just to keep you in the loop of what will be occurring throughout this semester
In about a month, your daughters will be going through a very important process during their time at Alpha Xi. Initiation is something that is sacred to each of the members of this organization and that is why I need your help. Below are going to be a few steps that you can take to help your daughters initiation experience be extra special!
If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please don't hesitate to text, call or email me!

Initiation Letters
On Friday, November 13th, your participation is highly recommended as your daughters make this journey!
Their initiation ceremony will be November 13th. As a part of tradition, we ask parents to write letters that will be read aloud to the them as part of our ceramony.
This is a surprise for your daughters, so keep it a secret!
The letter can be addressed to your daughter. Some reflect from younger years to the woman they are now, some are funny and some serious (or both), most make them cry, some include pictures. This is completely up to you! Whatever you want your daughter and their new sisters to know! I would say the letters range from half a typed page to two pages, so however long to express what you want will work! Both parents can write one together, separately, grandparents are fine as well!
Let me know if you have any questions! I would love to get all the letters by Friday, November 6th. Emailing them as a document to this email is fine!
Flowers
I wanted to suggest some floral places in the area! A lot of times parents and family send flowers as a congratulations for initiation! Our address here is 601 Fairchild Terr. Manhattan, KS, 66502. You can have them arrive the morning of Initiation.
