Parent-Led PK-6 Temporary Virtual Option –Update
Instruction will follow the standard grade level Plano ISD scope and sequence and will be provided for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies only. Students will have access to pre-recorded direct instruction along with corresponding assignments and activities. This model does not include synchronous (live) instruction and does not resemble last year’s PISD School@Home. With parent support, students will utilize supplemental technology programs for intervention and enrichment.
Parents can opt in to the Parent-Led Virtual Option by registering their child via the Plano ISD enrollment page. Parents who choose this option must register by 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
Students will remain enrolled at their home campus and will keep their assigned teacher of record, but will not attend school and will not have instruction or assignments delivered by their home campus teacher. The campus will maintain enrollment and a seat in the classroom when students return face to face. Students will be marked absent each day as “EV” or “excused virtual absence.”
- Ensure access to an appropriate device and Internet connectivity.
All students will have access to online learning tools. Students may use any Internet connected device to access them. Students without a device or WiFi connection may request these items through the Parent Portal.
- Technology Checkout
- Students and families are expected to follow guidelines for care and use in order to ensure these public resources are effectively maintained.
Google Classroom (or other digital platform) will be used for posting instruction and assignments.
Students will have access to online resources, textbooks and materials through PISD Webdesk, the district’s single sign-on platform.
Available online instructional tools include:
- Seesaw (PK-5) - Use for daily instruction and assignments

A list of Boggess students participating in the virtual option will be provided to the campus on Thursday, August 12th. Boggess will have a Chromebook Pickup on Friday, from 9:00-11:00 for students enrolling in the virtual option. If a student enrolled in the virtual option purchased school supplies through PTA and did not pick them up, we will also distribute those supplies with the chromebook.
