This week we sent 130 messages to families. This was a sharp decline from the prior week’s 225 messages. Photos and shared videos tripled to 68. Our positive student feedback remained steady at 88%. 2% away from our goal of 90% positive feedback school wide.
The discipline team is almost done meeting with all grade level teams. We are close to completion of the ClassDojo revamp. If you haven’t done so already, please add Principal Kemp, Dean Amos, Dean Moultrie and Coach Turner as co-teachers if you have not done so already. Please reach out to any parents that have not connected with your ClassDojo. Contact Ms. Woods if you need additional support.

Please be sure to review the new dismissal duty post assignments in detail. Don’t hesitate to communicate any questions, comments or concerns to Mr. Moultrie.
BE ADVISED: Thanks to all of you who have made an effort to replace your ID badges. The audit has been pushed back to ensure everyone is prepared. If you do not have a badge be sure to replace it ASAP. It’s mandatory that ID Badges be worn and must be visible while you are at work.
Friendly Reminders: ·
- Don’t let arguments brew! Immediately intervene anytime you see students in conflict. Remember it only takes a moment for a spark to turn into a fire.
- Students under your supervision should be monitored closely. ·Remember, students sent outside of your room MUST have hall passes. There will be an upcoming hall pass sweep. ·
- Keep in mind we can never put students out or invite students to leave. You must visually ensure a student that you have sent to colleague for cool down actually reaches the room you sent them to.

Culture Resource of the Week
WHAT AND WHY: This week Ms. Megan Lee, our Pre-K Coordinator, conducted a Conscious Discipline workshop with our parents. Embraced in 47 countries and 22 languages, Conscious Discipline’s foundation of safety, connection and problem-solving is leading a revolution of the heart as concepts initially applied in the classroom extend to every facet of our lives. Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach. It is recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), and received high ratings in 8 of 10 categories in a Harvard analysis of the nation’s top 25 social-emotional learning programs. The Harvard study’s authors say, “Conscious Discipline provides an array of behavior management strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities.”
