Mehlville School District

Special Education

July 2022 Edition

Big picture

Mehlville School District is starting a Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

Special School District's Parent Advisory Council mission is to effectively collaborate with and advise its stakeholders (including parent/guardians, the SSD Board of Education, Governing Council, SSD administration and staff, and partnering school district administrators and staff) in order to improve the educational, self-efficacy, and social outcomes of each student served by SSD.

We are very excited to announce that the Mehlville School District will be hosting a local parent advisory council. We are just getting started, so stay tuned for more information.

Parent Education Diversity Awareness is now Family and Community Engagement (FACE)

The mission of FACE is to partner with students, families, and staff to support students' specialized academic, social, and emotional needs to promote self-determination, equitable opportunities, and authentic inclusion.

FACE provides families with learning opportunities, information, and much much more!

FACE - Online Video and Webinars

FACE has several online videos and webinars on a variety of topics to support your child's learning. Check it out by clicking below.

First Day of School is Right Around the Corner!

The first day of school will be August 22, 2022. Families will be hearing from their child's case manager, and any other special education staff working with your child by the first week of school. Case managers and other staff will be providing their contact information, details about how your child will be receiving their special education services, and any other specific information related to your child.

Each Principal will be contacting all families to let them know of the beginning of the year activities.

If you have any questions about special education services, please reach out to the Special Education Coordinator that supports your child's building and they will be glad to help. See below for their contact information.
