Lesson Plans 2015-2016
Common Curriculum
This school year, staff in the Montello School District have transitioned into using a lesson planning system to share and distribute plans to all stakeholders. The staff in the district are currently using the 21st Century lesson planning schema of GANAG to guide their instruction.

Fosnot Math Units (Written by Ms. Topel)
I have used Cathy Fosnot units for the past two years now, and have found them to be very engaging as well as real world learning for the students. I feel the students get a better understanding of not just the numbers, but the concepts behind the numbers and what they really mean. They learn strategies to figure out any problem, rather than just memorizing facts for certain problems. I feel that the students are more engaged in the learning and develop a deeper understanding of the concepts.

Teacher-Powered Schools Conference/Presentation Night
After attending the first annual Teacher-Powered Schools Conference in Minnesota, Ms. Bolan and Mr. Primm were empowered and inspired to bring some fresh new ideas to High Marq and loved collaborating with other educators across the nation. There were especially inspired by some students who presented on Avalon School, a project-based learning school in St. Paul. This week was also our first Presentation Night of the year and it was a resounding success! Students did an amazing job presenting the projects they have been working on so far, and made their advisors, their parents, and their community proud!
