PARCC Results
I want to share a couple of thoughts on PARCC. PARCC results are just one way we measure achievement. MAP, formative assessments, and classroom activities are also important pieces of the puzzle to help determine your child’s strengths and weaknesses. We believe that every child starts at a different place and our goal is to continue to see each child make the necessary academic gains.
As always, you can also reach out to us if you have any questions.
Warrior Walk
We are still collecting donations for Warrior Walk. If you have any questions, please contact Jen Paugh at 301-992-5108 or jen.sang39@gmail.com.

8th Grade Vision and Hearing Screening
Vision screening will be provided for students in grade eight on October 3rd, 2016. The Hagerstown Lioness Club, in conjunction with other parent volunteers, will provide the initial vision screening in kindergarten, grade one, grade three, grade five, and grade eight. In addition, Meritus Health school health personnel will be conducting initial and recheck hearing screening for students in grade eight. You will receive written notification should your child need further evaluation. It is important to note that these are simple screening tests and are not designed to be diagnostic of specific vision or hearing disorders. Washington County Public Schools (WCPS), in collaboration with the Hagerstown Lioness Club and Meritus Health, are pleased to continue to provide these vital services for WCPS students.
