GIFTED AND TALENTED SCREENING REFERRALS
The window to submit referrals for fall G/T screening will be from November 2nd through November 16th. Any student in grades 1-12 is eligible to be referred for Gifted & Talented screening this fall. Parents with students in kindergarten do not need to submit a referral because all kindergarteners will be screened this spring (with parent permission). If you are interested in having your student in grades 1-12 screened for Lago Vista ISD’s Gifted and Talented Program, we ask that you first read the characteristics listed on the referral and consider them carefully prior to referring your student. If those qualities sound like your student, please print the permission form, complete it, and return it to your child's school by November 16th.
You can find the permission form by clicking here:
http://www.lagovistaisd.net/upload/page/0060/docs/LVISD%20GT%20Referral_2018.pdf
In order to uphold safety protocols, students who are referred for G/T screening this fall will be tested on the afternoon of December 2nd, which is an early release day. Transportation will need to be arranged by parents. Parents who submit a referral for testing will receive additional information via email.
Students who are identified for the G/T program will immediately begin receiving classroom differentiation and virtual lessons and will begin receiving face-to-face services when they resume for all students (likely in the fall of 2021-2022).
“THANKS”GIVING TREATS FOR TEACHERS
One of the most wonderful Lago Vista traditions our school teachers and staff love and look forward to each year is getting Thanksgiving treats from the community.
Please sign up to bring a goody and support our education community. Due to COVID concerns, we do ask this year that all treats are either Store Bought or Commercially Prepared. Thank you for all your help!
