Exploring Artists

Term 2 ECA 2016

Stop and look, listen and touch...

Do you wish your child would sometimes just go outdoors and explore?

In the technology and information filled world we live in, our children often overlook the things that are right in-front of them - sights, sounds and smells of the environment. The "Exploring Artists" ECA offers our students an opportunity to explore and appreciate their natural world, to learn about caring for their environment and to combine this knowledge and material to create organic, natural art projects.

Visits to the nearby park areas and exploring the local neighbourhood are integral to this ECA. Students will be asked to look harder, deeper; collect natural materials such as leaves, rocks, seeds, and bark to bring their creativity to life.

This activity promotes curiosity, natural wonder, appreciation for the outdoors and the ability to utilise and work with natural objects.
