Thank you to Mrs. Brotherton for this great idea! Get outside in the beautiful weather and see how many items you can find. The photo may also be viewed on our Facebook page. We'd love to see pics of our students and all the things they found!
Final Fun Day
Wednesday, May 27, will be our Beach/Summer Fun Day. Students are encouraged to dress in their favorite summer/beach clothes, provided they are school-appropriate! Please send photos to Mrs. Miron or Mrs. Rich for posting our our school Facebook and Instagram pages.
As mentioned in last week’s SHS Spotlight, we have been working on a plan to assess our students at the end of this very strange school year. Governor Whitmer’s executive order 2020-35, which closed all Michigan schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, stated students who were on track to promote to the next grade as of the school closure will do so. This remains unchanged; the assessments are to help us identify any gaps in learning that may have occurred in the last quarter of 2019-2020 and, if so, prepare to address them in the 2020-2021 school year. These assessments will not affect students’ report card grades.
End-of-year assessments for all grades will be administered during the week of June 1-5. We are creating a schedule that will allow for online assessments where possible and social distancing for those assessments that need to be given in the school building. We will have this schedule to all families by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 26.
Thank you for all you have done and are doing as we work to support one another in educating our students, your children. May God bless you.
