A Note from the Principal
Priority registration/enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year has begun! Be sure to complete your registration/enrollment using our online system through Gradelink by Friday, February 3. We are so pleased by the number of families who have already taken advantage of online enrollment. Any current families interested in preschool should enroll right away as these classes are filling up very quickly since there are limited spots. Don't forget about our New Student Referral Program offering a $100 incentive to families who refer a new family to our school.
As an extra bonus, any families who complete online registration and submit their fees by the end of the day on Tuesday, January 24 will be entered into a drawing for $100 in Schoolbelles gift certificates! Why not check it off your to-do list this weekend and get in on a chance to win.
On Monday, January 16, we remember and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who worked for the just treatment of African-Americans. He spoke out courageously and taught us how to make changes through non-violent protest. We ask God to give us the courage to challenge injustice wherever we see it and to help us be open to all people.
Peace and blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal

MAP Testing Dates-January 17 - February 3
At home, you can help to prepare your child by ensuring that he/she gets plenty of sleep each night and eats a nutritious breakfast each morning. Encourage your child to do his or her best on each test. The goal is for the testing to provide a detailed picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn--whether it is on, above, or below grade level--and to plan instruction accordingly.
Enroll Me FAQs
Thank you for beginning the process of registration for the 2023-2024 school year by using EnrollMe through Gradelink. Here are some frequently asked questions we have received with their corresponding answers:
Q: I don't believe I have a log in for Gradelink; how can I get one?
A: Email or call the school office and we will email it to you.
Q: Where can I find the "Re-enroll" tab?
A: Once you log into Gradelink, the "Re-enroll" tab appears along the left side. If it does not appear, be sure you are logged in under your parent account rather than the student account. Also, you must use a desktop or laptop device to complete the process; the mobile app will not allow re-enrollment.
Q: Once clicking on "Submit," are parents able to access the information to edit or to print documents?
A: If you believe you made an error, please email the school office and we will review the submitted information and make changes for you. Printing of documents is not an option in the system for parents at this time.
Q: Is my child's (grades 1-8) enrollment complete once I click on "Submit?"
A: Enrollment is not considered complete until the $225 registration fee is received by the office.
Q: Is my kindergartener's enrollment complete once I click on "Submit?"
A: The enrollment process is complete once you submit the $225 registration fee; however, all incoming kindergarteners must go through kindergarten screening before final acceptance.
Q: Is my preschooler's enrollment complete once I click on "Submit?"
A: The application process is complete once you submit the registration fee for the particular program in which you are interested; however, your enrollment is not complete until you receive an official acceptance (a hard copy) from the school office.
Q: Can I send one registration check for my preschooler and my K-8 students?
A: Please send one check for all students in K-8, and a separate check for preschool. You may submit them in the same envelope, but put the student name/s on each check.
Q: What if I change my mind about my tuition payment plan after submitting my enrollment?
A: Please email the school office and we will make changes for you.
Q: I have a new student to enroll at SPB; how do I add them?
A: Existing families that have children already in the school can add other children not currently enrolled. Because they are enrolling a new student, they will need to create a temporary registration account for registering the new student as the information for the new student is not yet in Gradelink. This is the same process that prospective families go through when enrolling their children. Keep in mind that the login credentials used to log into their Parent Portal will not work here.
Parents will log-in to their Parent Portal using their Gradelink login username and password.
They will then click the Re-Enroll tab on the left sidebar.
They will click the Have a new student to enroll? link at the top right of the page.
They will then follow the steps outlined in Enrolling a New Student.

Catholic Schools Week 2023
Celebrating our Nation
We will be Celebrating our Nation during Catholic Schools Week on Thursday, February 2. One way we would like to do this is by honoring our active military members during morning prayer.
Please send us the names of friends or family members who are currently serving our country in the United States Armed Forces so that we can honor them. These names will be read during morning announcements, and a prayer will be said in their honor.
Names can be sent to Mrs. Klepcyk at sklepcyk@saintpaschal.com by Monday, February 1.
Thank you!

Magic Gives Back: Rick Smith Magic Show
Happy 2023 SPB Families!
SPB is excited to present Magic Gives Back, a Las Vegas Grand Illusion and Interactive magic show, providing a truly unique experience you won't want to miss. Magic Gives Back, is an education-focused entertainment group, to help raise funds for schools. The show is scheduled for Saturday, 2/11 at 7:00 pm (Mayfield HS Auditorium), presented by Cleveland's own award winning, YouTube sensation and 5 time Guinness World Record Holder, Magician/Illusionist Rick Smith Jr. Rick and his team guarantee an evening full of fun entertainment for audience members of all ages that simply can’t be found anywhere else, so be sure to get your tickets before they sell out!
Ticket Sales and Donations are now open and can be purchased online, with tiered prizes for students to win. Rick Smith Jr. visited SPB yesterday for a school kickoff assembly and your child was given a flyer to bring home.
Magic Gives Back raises funds in two ways, (1) Ticket Sales & (2) Donations. We are asking all students (and parents) to participate in order to maximize our school fundraising potential. Each student will create a profile on the MGB platform (https://www.magicgivesback.com/student-registration). A new page from Ultimate Raise will open (partnered with MGB). Once the profile is complete, simply send a minimum of 10 (pre-written) emails to family, friends, co-workers, etc, promoting ticket sales for the show and asking for donations. The more YOU help us promote, the more money we will raise for SPB! Along the way, students will earn prizes, based on their selling success. It's that easy!
We Hope to See You at the SHOW for what will be a Great KNIGHT Out with SPB Families and Friends!

New Altar Server Training in 2023
Please serve God and our community by having our youth learn and grow in service and the Mass! After school, in church until 3:30 pm, join with the other altar servers and Father Lane in learning how to be in the ministry of altar serving, a noble, Catholic tradition here at Saint Paschal Baylon! Join the ranks of Paschal Proud altar servers by seeing the video online and participating in the training Mondays, February 6, 13, 27 & March 6. Installation of new servers will be Sunday, March 19 at the 8:30 Mass or when it is convenient for your family to participate in the liturgy of installation. For those that need it, free extended day will be provided by Father Lane. Register with Katherine Mailer, coordinator at katmailer416@gmail.com. All students in Grades 2 through 8 are eligible.
Playground Volunteers Needed-Kindergarten to Grade 4
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:10 am-12:55 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
Grade 4 families are asked to volunteer in January, Grade 3 in February, Grade 2 in March, Grade 1 in April, Kindergarten and anyone who would like to help in May/June.
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, Kindergarten
