Important Evacuation Practice
By law, In addition to periodic fire, tornado and lockdown safety drills, schools are mandated to conduct a full school evacuation drill at least one time per year.
On Friday, September 22, our school, with support of Blue Ash Police, will be conducting a complete evacuation. Our students will walk from our school to our safe location at the adjoining UCBA campus.
Please ensure that your child gets to school on time on this day so they can be prepared and involved in this important practice.
BAE Service Project. We care and we show it!!
Important Transportation Funding Information.....
Funding for Ohio school districts’ bus transportation is partially supported by the number of students that ride the bus. The amount is based on the accounting of students that ride the bus during a given week. This year's school bus ridership count will take place October 2nd-October 6th. Counts are taken on the morning ride into school as well as the kindergarten midday ride into school.
If your child typically rides the bus to school, please make an extra effort to ensure that they do so during the week of October 2nd - October 6th so our numbers accurately reflect our transportation needs. Thank you!
Wellness at Blue Ash Elementary!
Wellness is the state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort. At Blue Ash Elementary, the physical, mental and emotional well being of our students, families and staff is important to us. Being healthy doesn't just happen. It is something that we have to work toward.
"We can teach and help our children to grow up with an attitude of wellness. Children have much more control over their own health than you may think. The mind is a very powerful mechanism with miraculous control over health and healing. The more children learn to use the extraordinary powers of their minds, the healthier and happier they will be." ~ A Wellness Approach for Children, by Jane Sheppard.
In partnership with our amazing PTO, we will be featuring information in our SMORE that will share ideas for how we can keep our children and ourselves healthy, happy and strong.
Reporting Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Incidences
In an ongoing effort to provide a safe learning environment, Sycamore is requesting parents, students, and staff to inform administration (or whoever) of any perceived incidences of harassment, intimidation, or bullying.
Per the Sycamore Board of Education policy JFCF, harassment, intimidation, and bullying are defined as any provoked and intentional written, verbal, electronic or physical act that a student has exhibited toward another particular student more than once and the behavior both:
causes mental or physical harm to the other student; and
is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that it creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for the other student.
To view the complete policy, visit www.sycamoreschools.org, under the Board of Education tab, scroll down to “Policies”, search for policy “JFCF”.
Sycamore will do everything possible to address any complaints of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. We encourage students, staff, parents, and community members to report this type of behavior to the district if help is needed to solve a problem.
To report an incident of harassment, intimidation, and bullying,
Go to the website, www.sycamoreschools.org
Under the tab “Forms”, scroll down until you see the Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Incident Reporting Form for the individual schools.
Fill the form on-line and submit it electronically.
Hard copies of this form are available in each of the schools.
Complete the hard copy of the report form and turn it into the building principal.
The building principal or designee will promptly investigate all reported incidences.
It is difficult to investigate reported incidences that are anonymously submitted. However, every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of the reporter. Deliberate false reporting of harassment, intimidation, and bullying is prohibited.

Fourth and Second Grade recess 11:50am-12:30pm. First and Third Grade recess 12:50pm-1:30pm.

Haunted Fest Volunteers needed!
Haunted Festival is an annual family friendly, community welcome, night of fun at Blue Ash Elementary. Activities can be found in the gym, kindergarten wing, art room, library, UC Blue Ash Wing, on the stage, and in the cafeteria. Many volunteers will be needed to set up, run games, activities, and tables during Haunted Fest AND clean up! This event is the PTO's largest family fun night of the year. We are asking you to support the Haunted Festival because the monies raised go directly to the school. We simply ask that you work one shift such as running a game or selling food. This is a wonderful opportunity for grandparents, aunts, uncles, former students, older students who may need volunteer service hours, as well as volunteer service organizations to help make this festival a fun night for everyone.
This year we especially need volunteers on our blow up slide!
