SIS/SMS COVID-19 UPDATE
May 21, 2020
----------------culture. relationships. future ready----------------
Good Afternoon Parents, Students and Staff,
Once again I am hoping that this newsletter finds you and your families healthy and safe during the COVID-19 school closure. As certain areas of our state start to open back up and people are able to get back to work, I’m hopeful that everyone continues to be mindful of those around you and your families. It’s imperative that we continue to adhere to many of the safety recommendations in order for us to be able to return to the lives that we are all accustomed to living. Boy do I ever miss the kids. I miss interactions with both parents and staff, however I know that everyone's safety is a priority during this time. We will get there, stay strong!!!
I will try and be brief, as I know everyone is receiving plenty of information from the district, school and teachers. However, there are a few key items that need to be touched on in order to make the last three weeks of school for students efficient in order for us to prepare for the 2020-21 school year.
Eighth grade parents, please make sure you are looking at the drive through promotion information that will be included in this newsletter. We have assigned everyone a time. Each family will only be allowed two cars in order to limit the traffic. No one will be allowed out of the cars until it is your student’s turn to pick up their certificate. Please contact the office if you have questions. Please know that we are doing everything we can to celebrate your student moving onto high school. However, we have to put stipulations in place for safety purposes.
For those of you who have current sixth and seventh grade students, we have sent forecasting sheets out multiple times. We have about 100 more students who need to return it. We will be going over forecasting forms next week and placing kids in their 2020-21 classes at the seventh and eighth grade levels. If your student hasn’t filled one out, please do so by next Tuesday.
Finally, Mr. Olson, Mrs. Nau and myself were able to drive around and drop off some Virtual Student of the Month certificates yesterday. We handed out 29 certificates and made 27 stops. It was so good to see kids and parents. I appreciate all parents that allowed us to stop by for some social distancing time with their students. Thank you so much for that.
Please stay safe and healthy. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again as soon as possible. I miss everyone so much!!
Mr. Proctor
