Cultural Responsiveness and Social Justice
I wanted to share some resources for you to feed your brain and your soul with understanding or the beginnings of understanding about why people would feel motivated to react violently to circumstances that frustrate them. We have kids who are feeling like they can't quite see themselves succeeding here. There are kids who feel invisible. Hopefully this will help prepare you and your family to deal with these very troubled times where emotions are raw and frightening. Some of the books are available on Audible if you are a listener. There are also a lot of free resources on the web and I will link those, as well.
Here is a booklist on a site I found to help educators understand how to help expand our views about Culturally Responsive Teaching and Social Justice. It will also help you as a citizen in this amazing country. You will find them enlightening. Click on this link to access the booklist.
Thanks,
Diane

Why?? Because "Engaging youth in learning that simultaneously fosters their social-emotional learning and critical consciousness empowers them to thrive and transform the world," and because all kids are worth it.
