Principal Update
MMS Families,
We want to take a few minutes to welcome December, which always seems like such a busy month, and provide each of you with a few updates.
Congratulations to Mrs. Rossi-Riel and her family who welcomed a new daughter in November. We are excited to welcome Ms. Howell, who will be subbing in our Art classes until Mrs. Rossi-Riel returns.
As we are coming back from our Thanksgiving break, we are pausing here at MMS to hit reset. We want to continue to reinforce positive behaviors but also take the time to address some areas that need attention. We have been reviewing some of our rules, expectations, and our response with individual grade level teams. We are asking for your support with a couple of areas.
- Cell Phones - Students are not allowed to carry a cell phone. Phones should be placed in a student's locker at the beginning of the school day. If you need to get a message to your student during the day, please do not text them, but call the office and we will be happy to assist.
- If your student contacts you because they are not feeling well, please remind them that they need to go to the nurse. Our nurse will assess them and then reach out to you.
- School begins at 8:00. Any student arriving after 8:00 will be counted as tardy and will need to sign-in at the front office.
We have amazing students here at MMS and we want to make sure they feel connected and supported. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please reach out with a phone call or email.
We look forward to seeing everyone at one of the many upcoming events and/or performances!
Thank you for your continued support!

Helping Hands
As a service to the students and families of our community, the Helping Hands program is intended to facilitate Madeira’s ability to provide support for those of us in need through the school year. We understand that hardships can arise unexpectedly, and we know that there are many people in our town that very much want to help. Helping Hands is an effort to make the connections that help our community be a better place.
For families who would like to donate, we will be collecting gift cards this year. We believe that this is the safest and most accessible option for our community. We are asking that the value of each gift card not exceed increments of $50.
While all gift cards are accepted and appreciated, we are requesting gift cards to the following:
-Kroger
-Target
-Wal-Mart
-Amazon
The district-wide gift card collection begins immediately and will continue through December 10, 2021. Donations can be dropped off to any school building, or sent in with your student in an envelope addressed to the building specific school counselor.
