All students must complete an Annual Update with proof of residency

Students who have NOT started or completed the update including proof of residency will not be allowed to attend classes. The Annual Update for returning students is open.

SCHOOL CAFE FAQs

Q: How often do I apply for free or reduced price meals?

To qualify for free or reduced price meals you must submit an application each school year. 30 day grace period will apply until a new application is received. Eligibility approved at that time will override grace period status.

Q: Do I need to fill out an application for each child?

No. Complete one application to apply for free or reduced-price meals. Use one Free and Reduced-Price School Meals Application for all students in your household including Foster children. We cannot approve an application that is not complete. Be sure to fill out all required information.

Q: Who can get free meals?

Children in households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits (formerly the Food Stamp Program) or TANF may get free meals regardless of your income. If you have not already received a letter from Humble ISD stating that your household is eligible for free meals, you may take your HHSC benefit letter to the Humble ISD Child Nutrition office to be certified for free meals.

Children in households with income less than the amounts listed on the federal income Eligibility Guidelines located on the Square Meals website may qualify for free meals. A completed application for Free or Reduced Price Meals must be submitted every school year.


Q: Who can get reduced price meals?

Your children can get low cost meals if your household income is within the reduced-price limits listed on the federal income Eligibility Guidelines located at http://www.squaremeals.org. Follow this link to SchoolCafe to create an account and submit an application You must submit a new application for Free or Reduced Price Meals every school year. Reduced price lunch is $ .40 and reduced price breakfast is $ .30.
