April Update

Getting Ready for Middle School!

We are in full swing of Middle School Registration! A few reminders:

  • Green sheets and elective verification forms are due to the middle schools May 2-6.
  • Watchlist information is due to Middle Schools by April 29th - spreadsheet can be found on Blackboard in the Watchlist folder.
  • The watch list should include social information or other relevant data that cannot be located in PowerSchool, Easi, or Quickr. The watch list should not include attendance information, grades, or IEP/504/LEP info as that data can be located in other data bases. Do not include detailed information on the spreadsheet -- receiving counselors will contact the previous counselor if additional information is needed.

5th grade counselors will send the spreadsheet to the MS Lead Counselors at the "next school" (list included in this folder) and Cc: Barbara Palermo (bpalermo)

Career Day at Lincoln Heights Elementarty

Ellen McClay at Lincoln Heights has a wonderful twist on Career Day. Visitors including a scientist, meteorologist, musician, artists, and more visited classrooms and students rotated between speakers. During one of their rotations, they also went outside to see a dog washing truck, tank, bulldozer and more. Ellen found a way for students to experience many careers and be able to learn in depth information at the same time.
