At Simmons Elementary School, We're Better Together

As we look ahead to the month of March, please see below for the Simmons school calendar, as well as the breakfast and lunch menus. With our roller coaster temperatures this winter, we try to have outdoor recess as often as possible. Please consider having your children dress in layers so they are prepared no matter what Mother Nature brings our way!

Today, students in Mrs. Frame's and Ms. Roseman's third grade classes held a Makersfaire in the Forum. Funded through a grant from the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation, the third graders read Stone Fox, then designed sled dog kennels from recycled materials. They used iPads to create stop motion video tours of their kennels. Please check out next week's newsletter for photos from the Makersfaire.

Reminder - Victim Services Presentation tonight!

Tonight at 7 p.m. in the Forum, Jessica Rice from Montgomery County Victim Services Center will share information with families about the "Keeping Touches Safe and Healthy" program their educators present to students in grades K, 1, 2, 3 and 5. Following her presentation, Jessica will answer questions that you have about this program.

Volunteer Information

Any adult who will be in the classrooms (for any reason) or for field trips are required to have a volunteer photo i.d. badge issued by the Hatboro-Horsham School District. The required clearances are free and any adult (including parents, grandparents and other family members) can complete the process. The volunteer credentials are good for five years. We appreciate the time and commitment that our volunteers offer to enhance our school! Here's the link to the district website which includes all the information about volunteer clearances: https://www.hatboro-horsham.org/domain/445
