We hope this newsletter finds you all well rested and enjoying the first week of a brand new year! We enjoyed welcoming our students back this week and hearing about everyone's holiday break. Now it is time to move into 2023 as there is much good work to be done and many things to look forward to at DeMello School!

We hope your student has come home bragging about the math problems they solve with Jiji every day at DeMello. You may also be wondering who this Jiji is?! Jiji is the tiny penguin mascot of ST Math--our engaging online program that helps students develop and strengthen conceptual understanding of math through solving fun and very challenging puzzles. This month, we are showing Jiji some love by having our students decorate or disguise a cutout of their penguin friend. With the help of our math coach, Mrs. Fitton, we have set up a "Hall of Jiji" at DeMello adorned with students' Jiji creations! Enjoy a few pictures below. Our staff is voting on their favorite of the 200 entries received. We will let you know who the winners are!
