Cannon-Bard Theory

Definition: the physical reaction and the feeling occur at the same time

Pounding Heart (arousal) and Fear (emotion)

In this picture for this theory. The guy behind the wheel will feel his arousal (pounding heart) and his emotion (fear) at the exact same moment.

Schachter-Singer Theory

Definition: This suggests that thinking and labeling what we experience causes the emotion

Pounding Heart (Arousal) and "I'm afraid" (Cognitive Label)

In this picture the guy behind the wheel will feel his arousal (pounding heart) and also be able to think about his reaction and label it.
