All Staff Training – Wednesday, March 30th from 3:15-4:45pm. There will be a state required roster that will need to be signed for attendance showing a check-in and check-out time. Please plan to stay for the entire meeting. I will also be holding follow-up meetings with teachers on Thursday and Friday of that week to clarify any further questions you may have about testing.
If you are interested in looking at the Examiner’s Manual before our training on March 30th, you can find a copy of it in itslearning. Please DO NOT print the manual, just read through it to familiarize yourself with it. I will have to collect and shred any copies printed, so please do not waste the 64 pages. :)
The manuals can be found in itslearning at:
- FCS Georgia Milestones Resources
- EOG Resources 2015-2016
- EOG Manuals Spring 16
- Then you will find both the paper/pencil and online manuals
You will receive your official manual at our faculty meeting later this month where you will be able to write notes in it and highlight specific information. Just wanted to share this with you, especially our first-time examiners, in case you wanted to peek ahead of time.
Please let your students know that they should leave their BYOT devices at home on testing days. If they do bring them, we will be collecting them and placing them in the testing room during testing.
Admin will be walking the building on Tuesday, April 12th @3:00pm to check classrooms. We will be looking for all content material to be covered on the walls. All content must be covered for the duration of all testing. We wanted to let you know this now so you have plenty of time to cover your walls. We will also be looking to see if desks are in rows with enough room separating them.
There will be a revised lunch and recess schedule coming out later this week for the 5 testing days in April for your planning purposes. Please note your lunch time and table assignments.
There will not be specials for students in grades 2, 3, 4, or 5 on the 5 testing days of Georgia Milestones. We are utilizing all of our specials teachers as proctors during this time.
We will be conducting our practice online testing session this Wednesday with all of 4th grade students and any 3rd and 5th grade students who have online testing accommodations. We will keep you posted on how it goes. :)

Curriculum & Instruction
Are you let down with the narrative writing of your students? I have an instructional solution for you. Believe it or not, there is no one program or easy button to make coherent, sequential words instantly come out of a child’s mouth and onto paper. I would LOVE to help you plan and instruct your writing lessons. Call me Baby!
Student writing EXAMPLES K-12 – These are high performing student examples that would be great discussion pieces for you and your students.
Second and Third grades will be with me in Connections/Guidance through the 31st. We will be exploring Friendship with Second. We will be finishing Test Tips, then moving on to Communication & Resolving Conflict with Third.
Test Taking Tips Workshop:

Technology & Media
Assuming all goes well with the practice test tomorrow, I will convert the Chromebooks back to the original mode so they can be back in circulation Thursday, March 24th. They will remain in circulation until we leave for Spring Break.
Once we return from Spring Break, we will have to put them all back in testing mode to prepare for GA Milestones. They will stay out of circulation until all testing is complete.
As Chromebooks were being prepared for testing, I noticed that most of our students are not Removing this User after signing off. Please remind students to complete this step before shutting down.
