CES Happenings
Bike Rodeo is May 23rd at 3:00 PM. Students need to bring their bike and be accompanied by an adult. We are excited about our partnership with California Highway Patrol and Bodfish Bicycles that help us bring this event to our students.
Kid Appreciation Day will be returning this year. It will occur on Tuesday, June 7th. Kid Appreciation Day, is a newer version of Field Day, that brings together our student body in friendly, fun competitive as well as collaborative games. We have chosen to call it Kid Appreciation Day since it doesn't follow our "traditional" Field Day schedule of events. This day does have many of those wonderful elements that we all have loved about Field Day plus some new ones! We appreciate all our CES kids and their commitment to learning and making our school the wonderful place we all love. We are all looking forward to this day!
Also we will have all of our Lost and Found items out on the front lawn, next Friday, May 20th for students to claim. We have four HUGE bags full so be ready to take a look when you pick up your child.
Gratefully,
Mrs. Fischer and Ms. Crowther
Safety
To keep everyone safe, we need to avoid driving cars and turning around on the playground blacktop. Park outside the fence and walk back for pick ups.
We appreciate your support with keeping all of our kids safe.

Students need to have a permission slip on file to attend Garden Club on Wednesdays.

Staff Spotlight: Megan Graham
Megan is excited to be part of the positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that characterizes CES. She also LOVES working with children in the school garden. Megan enjoys seeing their excitement in making connections in nature to the process of growing food. She believes that gardening nurtures us jus as much as we nurture the garden; it encourages healthy eating, responsibility, and relieves stress.
In her free time, Megan loves working in her own garden as well as mountain biking, camping, and exploring new places with her family. Her favorite children's book is Too Many Pumpkins and she loves cuddling up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate whenever she has the chance. Megan dreams of visiting New Zealand to explore its beauty and culture.

Masking Updates
The chart below will be located on each entrance of all sites to assist our stakeholders understanding of the current guidance.
Our schools continue to take collective actions, including maximizing ventilation, providing access to personal protective equipment as well as testing and vaccination opportunities. We will continue to work closely with our partners at Public Health and to provide our school leaders access to the most current guidance and information to guide decision-making. Additional information on State guidance can be found here.
As we move toward the end of another challenging school year we appreciate everyone’s patience and resilience.
Volunteers on Campus
Volunteers on campus
CES values our volunteers who help us so much. This year, in addition to the paperwork that volunteers complete we will be requiring
proof of vaccination
Or a weekly Covid test
and be fingerprinted (this can be done at the District Office in Quincy)
You are considered a volunteer if you come in consistently to assist at school in your child’s class. Field Trip drivers or parents that help for one event are not considered volunteers in this circumstance.
Testing will occur on campus once a week starting in early October but one can get a test result from anywhere convenient. The “quick test” AKA antigen will be the test provided at the school. At this time, over the counter tests will not be accepted.
