NEWS: Districts Improve Evidence-Based Instructional Practices with Blended Learning (photo above)

Teaching the Four "I"s: Intensive, Intentional, Individualized Instruction for 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds with IEPs

During the school year, a group of teachers, speech-language pathologists, and administrators from Fort Worth, Joshua, Everman, and Keller ISDs participated in an intensive, blended course to improve evidence-based instructional practices. The course was led by Dr. Jennifer Grisham-Brown from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Grisham-Brown is a leading national expert in tier 3 and specially-designed instruction in early childhood. Participants attended face-to-face sessions with follow-up online coaching and feedback from Dr. Grisham-Brown, Rebecca Crawford (also from the University of Kentucky), ESC Region 11 consultants, and our Digital Learning team through Canvas, Zoom, and V-Brick.

Autism Conference Set for August

The 24th Annual Texas Autism Conference will be held August 3-4 at the Wyndham San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel. Sponsored by the Texas Education Agency and coordinated by ESC Region 2, the conference includes keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and parent panel discussions. It also provides networking opportunities for participants to exchange successes, challenges, and ideas on how to increase student performance and success in life.

Blackboard Lunch 'n Learn Series - Community Engagement, Safety, and Security

ESC Region 11 will host Blackboard's K-12 Lunch 'n Learn Series Community Engagement, Safety, and Security on May 19 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Connect with others and exchange ideas about innovation in action at your own and neighboring districts. This event is free and open to all.

Crisis Support Teams, Instructional Leaders, Administrators, Counselors

ESC Region 11 is hosting Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training with Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) on July 5-8. CPI is considered the global standard for crisis prevention and intervention training, and this training helps administrators meet the new requirement for training in restraint and de-escalation strategies required by SB507.

Distance Learning - EXPLORING AMERICA: CELEBRATING THE NATIONAL PARKS

May 20, 10 a.m. (45 minutes)

Through this Connect2Texas virtual field trip, you and your students can be part of the adventure and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Parks! Join photographer David Hares II as he shares photographs and tales of his travels of our country’s national parks and the places in between. So far, these adventures have taken him more than 40,000 miles as he captures the beauty and uniqueness of our country's treasures.
