Congrats! Argyle High School Teacher Honored
Ms. Thompson is a paraprofessional whose current assignment is that of assisting a second language learner with total blindness. Her compassion and dedication to her work gained the attention of those around the state and as a result of her professionalism, she has been awarded this honor. Ms. Thompson works directly with Agustin Sullivan, a Spanish-speaking, 16-year-old blind transfer student from Mexico.
This student came to America with many obstacles to overcome regarding learning. He is an English as a second language learner and an emerging braille reader. He’s an auditory learner with minimal understanding for the English language and presents an overall cultural deficit due to the lack of access to education while in Mexico.
She makes it her mission to be all-inclusive with this student and provides him the dignity he deserves while navigating the language barrier with his classroom teachers. She is always quick to jump into action and help the classroom teachers in assisting this student with his overall learning needs. Ms. Thompson is creative in presenting the materials to him in such a way that he understands.
Congratulations Ms. Thompson on this well-deserved award!

Argyle ISD Approves New AHS Volleyball Coach
"We are excited for Coach Johnson to lead our Lady Eagle program into Class 5A," Argyle ISD Atheltic Director Todd Rodgers said. "She demonstrated the leadership, volleyball experience and relational skills to such a high degree as an assistant that our decision to promote her to head coach was a natural progression."
Johnson helped lead the Lady Eagles to a Class 4A Region I final appearance last year in her first season on staff. She previously served as an assistant at Coppell High School from 2016-2021. Johnson, who played volleyball at Denton High School, also coached club volleyball with the Instinct Volleyball Club.
"I am so honored and feel extremely blessed to serve as the next head volleyball coach at Argyle High School," Johnson said. "Thank you to Coach Rodgers, Coach Westmoreland and the AISD Administration for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity. Argyle volleyball has a rich history of success and I am hoping to continue that tradition of excellence. I am excited to get to work!"
