How to Stay Connected
How to stay connected to your Counselor:
1. You can email me at shannon.fisher@dvusd.org and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I have Zoom office hours M-Th from 1-2pm. You should see the link to join in canvas. You can also email me to set up a zoom meeting if you need to talk as well. I am still here to help with anything I can. *For zoom calls, we have made sure to make all calls secured. To talk via phone, you can email and I will send the Google phone number to call.
2. My website: https://www.dvusd.org/Domain/8670 is where you can see updates for my online office hours and information on emotional health.
Here are some important updates:
7th & 8th grade chocolate sales:
Thank you to everyone who sold candy bars! We do not have a total amount of money raised yet, but I do know we can use the money next year for Jeremy Anderson to come speak since we had to cancel. To pay the $60 owed per box, we will update you as soon as the district lets us know how to collect the money. The office is closed right now, so we will hopefully have a plan soon. We appreciate how patient you have been.
Click here to see the message Jeremy Anderson sent our school! He is excited to see us next school year! :)
Summer School: Deer Valley Online Learning Program’s summer school is open for registration here: https://www.dvusd.org/domain/8142

Last, we want to be sure you are taking care of your needs while we are not physically going to school. Make sure you take time every day to move a bit, reconnect with your friends (online of course), sleep enough, and take care of your mental health through breathing, meditation, gratitude journaling, or whatever works best for you. · From Teen Life Line- April is National Stress Awareness Month. These following weeks, especially with announcement of school closures for the remainder of the year, can be filled with stress and sleepless nights. Due to school being canceled, you may start to feel anxious or stressed. We want you to know that you're not alone and we still want to support you. We want to help you by connecting you to another teen at Teen Lifeline. If you start feeling too stressed out at any point this month, please talk to someone about it. You can do this by calling or texting 602-248-8336. Remember, in the time of uncertainty, you are not alone. We want to remind you that due to school closures, Teen Lifeline's texting hours have been expanded. Teen Lifeline is also available to parents and other adults who are in need of resources for their children. The following are our new hot line hours.
Teen Lifeline: call/text 602-248-8336
· Calling remains available 24/7.
· Texting available extended hours 12pm-9pm on weekdays and 3pm-9pm on weekends.
· Peer counselors are still available from 3pm to 9pm every day.
Take care of yourselves and I hope to catch up with you soon!
Thank you all,
Mrs. Fisher
