Martin Luther King Jr. Day
There will be no school, on January 15th, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. We will take time in class to review and remember Dr. King and his legacy. You can view a video below.
2nd Grade Buddies Visit
Ms. Goldman's second grade class visited. This gave the 6th graders an opportunity to take on leadership roles with the younger students and to be role models.
Team Building
Every six weeks the students get new seats in Mr. Spear's classroom. Time is taken for the new groupings to build relationships by having some fun, shared experiences.
Dr. Schmidt
Dr. Schmidt, the former principal of Jefferson Junior High and current Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, took time recently to visit the classroom. He shared some stories that tested the students critical thinking.
"Do You Want to Build a Snowman?"
Sixth graders in Mrs. Zei's class had a great time working with their buddies in Mrs. Grave's class to build paper snowman. At this point we didn't have any snow, but over break hopefully everyone enjoyed some time outside to possibly build a real one.
Husky Traveling Trophy
For a 2nd time the students in 6Z have displayed good leadership on following hallway expectations. Keep up the good work! Students have enjoyed carrying around their furry friend and hopefully this motivator will continue to help all students follow expectations.
Setting New Year's Resolutions!
Goals are always good to have and in 6Z we have been talking about a positive learning environment in which we have a growth mindset. As we all know January is the time of year we reflect on what we want to change for the better and hopefully we will work hard on our short term goals to make it towards what we've set out to accomplish.
