Valley View Junior High

November 2018 Parent Newsletter

Principal's Message

The season of being thankful and giving is upon us. It is a busy time, but also a time to stop and reflect on all of the things we have to be thankful for. Encourage your child to list all of the wonderful things your family has to celebrate.

Nothing feels better than helping others. Have your child write a thank you note to someone who rarely receives recognition or help them collect items to send to a local food bank or donation center.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sports Schedules

Sports schedules can be accessed online through our website. Parents can simply go to www.valleyview.k12.oh.us, and then click on "Spartan Sports". From here they can select the sport they wish to look at. Make sure the correct year is selected from the drop down menu.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that provides the books kids want to read. It's a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level.

Reading for pleasure inside and outside of school has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are.

Remember, all purchases benefit our school.

Veterans' Day Activities

David Shortt, curator at the Germantown Veterans' Museum will once again be bringing local veterans to the school to share their stories with students. We look forward to this visit every year. This year's presentation will be held on November 9th.

Catch Up Cafe

Catch-Up Cafe is now up and running again at the junior high! We all forget to complete tasks and assignments at some point. Now students will have the opportunity to catch up on their work and complete assignments during lunch five days a week. Teachers can refer students and students can sign up themselves any time they need to complete missing homework. Help will be available in a quiet atmosphere where students can eat lunch, get caught up and feel good about themselves!

Student Fees

Fees for the 18-19 school year are now due. Checks can be made out to VVBOE for $42.00 and sent in to the school office.
